SINGAPORE, July 31 (Reuters) - Singapore's unemployment rate fell to a seasonally adjusted 2.4 percent in the second quarter, a six-year low, Ministry of Manpower preliminary data showed on Tuesday.

Employment rose by 61,900 in the three months to the end of June, the ministry said. Unemployment in the first quarter stood at 2.9 percent.

Singapore's trade-driven economy grew at an annualised 12.8 percent in the second quarter, its fastest clip in two years, driven by a manufacturing upswing and a construction boom.

Singapore reports unemployment on a quarterly basis.
